Listed Below are factors that will or may disqualify you for employment from a

law enforcement agency.

 

  1. Any false statement or any omission of information either on the employment application, the personal history statement or verbally to the oral board or the background investigator is disqualifying or grounds for termination of employment.
  2. Unlawful sales of any drug or narcotic (including marijuana).
  3. Any adult conviction for a theft or theft-related offense within the past five years.
  4. Convictions for theft or theft-related offenses.
  5. Any felony conviction.
  6. Applicants on criminal probation at the time of intended hire.
  7. Any theft of an object (including cash) worth more than $400.00.
  8. Any theft with an aggregate loss exceeding $400.00.
  9. Applicants with DUI conviction within the past three years.
  10. Applicants with more than one adult DUI conviction.
  11. Lack of a valid driver’s license.
  12. Being at fault in three traffic accidents within the past five years.
  13. Any sex acts perpetrated against the will of the other party.
  14. Any sex act in which the applicant was an adult and the other party was under 14 years of age.
  15. Suicide attempts.
  16. Failure to keep assigned appointments.
  17. Failure to submit all documentation in a complete, neat and timely fashion.
  18. Any pending criminal/civil cases.

 

  1. Any adult misdemeanor conviction.

 

  1. Adult convictions for three moving violations within the past three years.

 

  1. Any failure to appear on driving record.

 

  1. Violation of CVC 16028 (A) – Mandatory Vehicle Insurance.

 

  1. Applicant under psychological care.

 

  1. Military discipline: Article 15/Court Martial/General or Dishonorable discharge.

 

  1. Unlawful use of any drug or narcotic. 

 

You will be questioned about the above factors during the polygraph examination.

 

Non-Smoker preference – Preference in hiring will be given to applicants who are non-smokers or who agree to stop smoking as a condition of employment.
